In terms of church marketing, I think churches need to first determine their audiences, and then figure out what their goals are in reaching out to each audience. For example, there are current members, local Christians who don&#039;t have a church home, Christians who do have a church home that they might not be happy with, non-christians...the list goes on and on. Not one strategy will reach each audience, which is why churches should really focus in on their primary goals. 

I think the book &quot;unChristian&quot; helps a lot with this. It gives us a good look at how people who don&#039;t profess Christianity view those of us who are Christians, and why they are not choosing to join in. How the &quot;church&#039;s&quot; behavior has affected them - again, it&#039;s about research.

For the local church, we need to look at really honing in on our &quot;brand&quot; - who we are as a community of believers - and what our goals are. Then figure out what tools can help us get where we want to go. It can start with one person - why are you a part of that community? How can you better share your personal story?
